I now serve as the inaugural Tig H. Krekel director of The Center for Coaching and Mentoring at the United States Naval Academy. My academic journey includes degrees from Michigan State University, the University of Colorado, and The Johns Hopkins University. I am an ICF-certified coach and professor of coaching and leadership for over a decade.

I would trade in all of my college degrees just to possess my coaching skills; that’s how impactful coaching is. Whether through leadership coaching or life coaching, these skills are essential for every human on the planet, making them a must-have set of skills for this century. My journey in coaching, alongside its counterpart mentoring, forms the foundation of my current work—including my new podcast, my upcoming book on coaching (tentative release 2027), and all my public speaking engagements.

Before taking positions in higher education, I taught in suburban Denver, on the Navajo Nation, in Quito, Ecuador, in inner-city Baltimore, and on ropes courses in North Carolina and Arizona. I am also pursuing my coaching certification through the ICF, focusing on leadership coaching and life coaching. When I'm not writing my blog or living my core values deeply, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and exploring new places, often sharing my experiences on my podcast.
